Is teaching an art or a science?
What is the best way to monitor student learning?
How do we recognize good teaching and replicate best practice?
Is standardization a goal to achieve or avoid?
Are teachers professionals with a right to practice as they see fit, or are we hired help who must follow specific programs?
These questions and many, many more are on my mind as a teacher. I want to explore these questions with other professionals and take our profession back from those who do not understand what teachers do. I hope to be among the leaders who will reshape and reclaim it.
